Well, everyone, the wait is finally over! This past Thursday I had the privilege of attending the St. Louis Fashion Blog Awards put together by the oh so wonderful Alive Magazine I adore so much. The awards were also the official kick-off to Saint Louis Fashion Week. I can’t believe it’s already that time of year again. I feel like it was just last week I was at spring fashion week. My, how time flies! The party took place at one of the hottest spots in St. Louis — Three-Sixty and was hosted by the lovely Christia DeShields of Moda Christia. I was lucky enough to share the amazing evening with my wonderful boyfriend and a surprise arrival from some friends to lend their much appreciated support! We enjoyed some tasty mixed drinks and appetizers as we mingled with fellow fashion bloggers, designers, and friends.
Let me state yet again just how honored I am to be in the company of some truly talented local bloggers. I started this blog off on a whim for a class project and never in a million years thought I’d be where I am today. But what’s truly amazing is how inspiring these women are, and after Thursday night, I am more eager than ever to take this little blog to the next level. I am so thankful for the support of our ever growing local blogger community and I’m so happy to have these ladies to turn to. Congratulations to all who won — so deserving! For a full list winners, go here. Oh, yeah, and I walked away with People’s Choice for Best Use of Photography. I was thrilled to receive this award because my photography is the one thing I’ve really worked hardest on in this last year and a half I’ve had this blog. It’s good to know my hard work is paying off and getting recognized. I want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart for all of the support and voting you all did. I had no idea the amount of love I had surrounding my little fashion blog and it truly warms my heart.
How do we like my look from the evening? It’s definitely new for me, but I surprisingly loved the leather on me. The detail and the black color blocking really made fall in love with the dress. It was classic, edgy, and very flattering. As for the shoes, well, I had those picked out before I even bought the dress…big shocker there, huh? I find it so refreshing seeing all of the different styles at these fashion events because everyone is so unique and I take inspiration from everyone.
