Final Chi Town update! Man, writing up these posts is really depressing…I’m totally having Chicago withdrawals already. The last two days of our trip consisted of lots of museums, touristy things, and fog…lots of fog. Monday Mike and I visited Shedd Aquarium and Field’s History Museum. Shedd’s was by far my favorite of the day, but that’s because not many things can top sea otters and dolphins, am I right? We also strolled down to Millennium Park where I really felt like a tourist snapping shots of Mike and me at the Bean. We grabbed ourselves some beers and stood in awe at how beautiful everything was. Trying to take advantage of the wonderful summer weather, Mike and I traveled over an hour using the marvelous CTA to North Chicago to try out a lakeside restaurant suggested to us by friends. The second we got off the train, we were welcomed by thick fog, mist, and 10 degree cooler weather. Perfect for beach side dining. We’d already traveled a long way so we gave it a shot regardless of how uncomfortable the atmosphere was. The food was amazing, so it wasn’t a complete bust. Our final day in Chicago was all about the science center. Mike and I definitely has the most fun there, I think. Like the kids there on filed trips, Mike and I played and experimented with as much as we could get our hands on. We ended up spending the rest of the day by visiting the lake (without the fog this time), seeing the Jordan statue, grabbing lunch from a bar and grill featured on one of our favorite shows, and even driving into Indiana so Mike could buy beer from Three Floyd’s…lots and lots of beer. Our trip was amazing and I can’t wait for more adventures with my guy. It’s only the beginning!

Hello, lovely readers! I’m back from my wonderful trip to Chicago with Mike! It was one of the most seamless and enjoyable vacations I’ve been on in awhile. Neither one of us forgot anything heading to or leaving Chi Town and the drive there wasn’t half bad either. I’ll break down the trip into two posts, today’s obviously being ‘part I’ of our adventures. These first two days consisted of shopping on Michigan Avenue, eating to-die-for Chicago-style pizza, the Navy Pier, and even a Cubs game. Before we even got into the city, or even checked into our hotel for that matter, Mike and I stopped at an Urban to do some shopping. Let me tell you, it’s nice having a boyfriend who gets a 40% off employee discount ;) Once we made it to the hotel and freshened up, we headed downtown for shopping, dinner, and a beautiful but chilly stroll down the pier. The next day was all about baseball! Well, not the kind of baseball Mike and I are used to, but Cubs baseball… I can honestly say I had a great time, enjoyed the stadium and Mike and me repping our Cards, and everyone that worked at Wrigley was beyond nice. It was all-in-all a great experience.

I’m finally recapping my Friday night for you all! I don’t know how much I filled you in on what I was going to be doing last Friday, so you’re probably rather confused…let me explain. As I mentioned a few weeks back, I started a new internship! Actually, it’s my first. I am one of the newest PR/Events/Marketing interns at ALIVE Magazine right here in St. Louie! I’m learning the ropes of magazine publication, event planning, and social media galore! I’m loving it and was lucky enough to be buddied up with some wonderful fellow intern ladies. I think we make a great team :) Sorry, Chels, stole your picture! Anyway, back to last Friday. With this internship comes a lot of hard work, but also a lot of perks — like attending fun events and parties. Last Friday was ALIVE’s annual Hot List Party where they celebrate the best of the best of St. Louis dining, shopping, you name it. I was happy to share the evening with Mike and get yet one more internship experience crossed off.
Like the pillows? I was easily enthralled with the placement and coordination of them…
One of my favorite pop-up boutiques at the party. Mike and I loved the East + West table!
I also ADORE Fun in the Sun in Kirkwood who showed off their adorable new swimwear. Their store is packed with the preppiest things! Vineyard Vines…oh my.
