No, not Christmas time…well, yes, but I really mean finals time. As you all know, I’m a junior in college and busier than ever. On top of all of the school work I have to do and other responsibilities, I find it super difficult to put together cute and fun blog posts. I’d rather give 110% on this blog than just throwing something up in a few hurried minutes. With that being said, I will be taking a break from blogging until DECEMBER 13, 2012. That is the day of my very last final. After finals are over I’m off for an entire month, people! Props to the other amazing fashion bloggers that can juggle school, work, family, and blogging — I’m working on it! Love you guys and I’ll be back before you know it :)
Thanksgiving is just days away, and if you’re like me, you’re wracking your brain as to what you’re going to wear. I know some people don’t leave the comfort of their homes all day on Thanksgiving. They stay in their pajamas watching the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade and football all day — lucky you. Others have to get ready to venture out into the brisk November air to see family and friends. If that’s the case, I have some casual looks for you today. Again, some people are very causal on turkey day, while others treat it as a special occasion and get all dolled up. That look will be tomorrow! Today: a casual Thanksgiving look with some of the latest fall trends. Those being…
The ultra comfortable and trendy infinity scarf and combat boot. Hopefully you ladies have these fall staples, if not, they’re in abundance at every store you go to if you’re willing to face that early Christmas crowd. If not, click the photo above to order online. Now on with the styling of these two items!
What could be more casual than leggings and an oversized sweater? Casual, cute, and you can eat all day long and no one will be able to tell with the copious amount of sweater covering your belly :) It’s a win-win, ladies. I’ve chosen some “preppier” or more appropriate to see grandma sweaters, and some more laid back sweaters. Take your pick. Rock what you’d be most comfy in. Then I know there are those ladies like me who love their dresses…
All of these dresses are casual in their own right, or could be dresses up. In our case, we want to make them even more casual. The second you throw on the scarf and the combat boots, I promise you, you wont feel like you’re trying too hard. Promise. Go for a 3/4 length sleeve or sweater dress for some added warmth, or go straight for the sleeveless dress — you can literally wear a scarf with anything these days, even sleeveless dresses!
That’s all for my casual Thanksgiving Day looks. Check back in tomorrow for some dressier styling ideas! I’m off to work on some last minute papers and projects before I can even begin to think about turkey and pumpkin pie. Take care!
I had the privilege of being on the John and Drew radio show on Tuesday and lending some fashion advice to the men of the show. It was a great experience and I had an absolute blast! Considering it’s a St. Louis show and I didn’t tell you all about it beforehand, I will leave you with a link to the interview. Please listen and let me know what you think. It’s pretty obvious it was my first time with them, so bare with me…I get a little bit better as the show goes on. What can I say? I’m used to being on camera, or at least in front of it. Enjoy :)

Rule #1: YOU DO NOT NEED A BOYFRIEND TO WEAR BOYFRIEND JEANS
Now that I covered that, here’s how to wear ’em!
I personally love boyfriend jeans, and they’re probably my favorite style right now. My reasons for loving them are simple — they’re comfy as can be, versatile, and look good on most body types. As you can see, they fit loose all over, and to add some interest and structure, all you have to do is cuff them. They’re versatile because you can literally wear them with Converse to pumps. These jeans are a staple and should be in every women’s wardrobe.
Those are some of my favorite ways to style boyfriend jeans. Although I’ve yet to wear mine with heels (I’ll get there), I usually pair them with flats or flip flops.
Just in case you’re still curious as to what shoes look best with bf jeans (most do), I gave you all a few options.
So, there you have it! Keep the look simple with a t-shirt and cardigan, or dress it up with a button-up and a blazer. Like always, have fun with it!
I’m sitting in a Starbucks for the second Saturday night in a row…cliche much? Blame Arijana for dragging me here under false pretenses. She proclaimed she had “so much homework to do!” She’s literally sitting across from me with all of her notes strewn across the table playing a game on her iPhone. God love her. As for me, I finished an entire take-home test. Boom! This isn’t how I pictured my Saturday nights being once I turned 21, but I’ve only got a few more weeks before all the stresses of school are behind me, if only for a month or so. Let me tell you, winter break is going to be amazing. I mean, you should see my reading list. Big things are going to go down. Until then, I’ll be here, at my favorite Starbucks and the library. Motivation. Is. Key. I hope you all had a wonderful weekend, and I hope you have an even more wonderful week!
They’re playing Mumford & Sons right now, so my Saturday night really isn’t all that bad after all.
Oh, and here are some shots I took walking around my neighborhood earlier :)
